7 March 2009 – Sheep Deworming

Because the smaller sheep were so skinny we decided to deworm them just in case. Gave the larger sheep — Aretha and Anisette — 1.5cc and the rest of the girls 1.0cc. Beautiful day with a mid-day temperature of 44°F (6.6°C)

6 March 2009 – Shearing

Gwen came up to shear the girls today. Ironically Anisette was the most cooperative, while the rest kicked and fidgeted. Manta and Caramel are looking a bit on the thin side. Gave everyopne some corn to help keep them warm, but it is unseasonably warm, so they probably won’t need it.

Administered deworming shots to the llamas. Six CCs to Kuzco and four to Guinness. Picked up 41 bales of second cut hay from Bruce Post. Cold overnight and a frosty morning.

Tues, 7 October 2008

First frost last night, and the first time we ran the furnace. Llamas had frost on their backs in the AM when they were given their grain.

Mon, 1 September 2008 (PM)

Got call from Bruce Post. Picked up 103 bales of hay from a field in East Bethel behind the grange. Josh and Lori assisted. Big help! Sunny, warm but not too hot. Mid 60s.

Mon, 1 September 2008 (AM)

Dr. Barry visited and we wormed all the animals and gave the sheep their rabies vaccination. Suggested worming the llamas once a month from May to December and that the sheep are a little skinny. Sunny and cool. 50s.
