Honeymoon at Harpers Ferry …
After all the time spent planning and executing our wedding, we decided it would be too much to organize an extravagant honeymoon right away. So instead we opted for the low-key honeymoon: a brief, scenic jaunt to Harpers Ferry. We had a great time just strolling around town holding hands. As Rick said, it was a very relaxing time and a great way to spend our first weekend as “Old Married Folks”.
We had a jolly good time …
The wife and I had such a lovely time on our “mini” honeymoon in and around Harpers Ferry this weekend that it is difficult to try and pinpoint any one particular highlight. We stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast run by a sweet woman (and excellent cook) where we enjoyed rolling hills filled with beautiful foliage, the company of a sweet dog named Tucker, and evenings cuddling while sipping sherry. We had a wonderful and delicious meal at a French restaurant run by a chef named Billy Joe of all things. We enjoyed a blustery day strolling around Harpers Ferry, and we had fun pretending we know something about wine. However, I still think the most fun and relaxing time was had at the Hunter’s Head, an English-style pub in the Virginia countryside.
